Certified safety at every stage.
Leak detection, automatic shut-off, OPSO/UPSO protection and fire-rated cabinets from the bulk tank to the kitchen tap — internationally-benchmarked and independently verifiable.
Modelled on European gas-utility standards · adapted to Kenyan regulatory requirements
Engineered to fail safe
Safety is designed in, not added on — layered mechanical protection backed by continuous digital monitoring.
Defence in depth
Independent layers — mechanical relief, excess-flow, pressure shut-offs, detectors and solenoids — so no single failure removes protection.
Local action, remote supervision
Life-critical closures use a hard-wired detector → solenoid loop. LoRa never sits in the critical path; it supervises, logs and reports.
Fail-safe by design
Solenoids are 24 V fail-safe, valves are lockable, and the estate ESD closes on emergency — the safe state is the default state.
Safeguards at every point
From the fenced tank compound to the appliance, each stage carries its own independent protection.
At the tank yard
- 85% automatic fill-stop limiter
- Pressure relief valve to a vertical vent stack
- Excess-flow valve at the tank outlet
- Emergency solenoid wired to the estate ESD panel
- Earthing, bonding and lightning protection
- 2 × 9 kg extinguishers, fire sand and locked fence
In the network
- Paired OPSO / UPSO over- and under-pressure shut-offs
- Building-entry excess-flow and manual isolation valves
- Lockable floor isolation valves on every riser
- Ventilated riser shafts to prevent gas accumulation
- Fire seals and pipe sleeves at wall penetrations
- Yellow pipe identification on all visible runs
In each apartment
- Gas & CO detectors below-hob and near sleeping areas
- 24 V solenoid that cuts supply on a leak alarm
- Manual apartment isolation valve at the entry
- Flame-failure devices on cooker and water heater
- Room-sealed, balanced-flue water heaters
- Approved flexible LPG hose to appliances
Clearances that meet the standard
The tank compound is sited clear of buildings, with separation distances set by whether a rated firewall is present.
- Float level gauge on the tank top; PRV piped to a safe vent; earthing lug on the tank saddle.
- Danger signage, no-smoking notices, drip-tray spill containment and a restricted-access locked gate.
- Commissioning includes pressure tests and leak tests, with dates recorded in compliance logs.
No firewall
5-ton tank → building minimum
2-hr firewall

Every event is logged. Leak, tamper, pressure and valve events are recorded to an immutable audit trail, with role-based access and 2FA on critical operations.
